They're under starters' orders. Thousands are warming up for this Sunday's Leeds Abbey Dash
Among them, a squad of around 60 bankers and investment managers will be swapping corporate suits for running gear next week when they line up for the start of the Leeds Abbey Dash.
Equity house Endless has a track record for taking part in energetic charity fund-raisers and bosses decided to take the challenge a step further, inviting clients such as Deloitte, KPMG and RBS to join them in this weekend's run.
And Endless have been overwhelmed by the level of support with 60 names already on the list, bumping potential sponsorship up to over £3,000 - close to the team's overall target of £5,000.
"The fitness bug has really bitten among our team since the summer but we've been really staggered by the response from our partners," said Endless spokesman and partner, Darren Forshaw.
"Clearly, the Abbey Dash is a popular event but a lot of entertaining goes on in our sector in the run-up to Christmas so maybe the challenge is an opportunity to stay in shape!
"Taking part is a great opportunity to network, combined with fund-raising for a very worthy cause.
"In fact, there's every chance we'll make it an annual event."
Founded in 1984, with 2,000 participants, the Abbey Dash is expected to attract as many as 8,000 runners on Sunday - all taking part to boost the coffers of new charity Age UK, formed from the amalgamation of Age Concern and Help the Aged.
Money raised will go to causes support by the new organisation's Leeds branch, including Older Carers Support, Advocacy, Meals At Home, Acorn End-Of- Life Care and leisure centre activities.
The run starts outside Leeds Town Hall, following a flat route past Kirkstall Abbey, ideal for all runners.
