18 June 2010 | Crown appoints new Commercial Manager for Export & Licensing

Jon Dingoor

Crown Paints Limited has appointed Jon Dingoor to the role of Commercial Manager for Export & Licensing, with responsibility for developing overseas sales and forging licensing agreements for the company’s key decorative coatings brands which include Crown, Sandtex, Macpherson, Permoglaze and Berger.

Jon is no newcomer to Crown Paints and its product range. For nineteen years he worked in various senior sales and marketing roles for Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings Limited, Crown’s parent company until August 2008, when a management buyout supported by Endless LLP transformed the UK subsidiary into the country’s largest independent paint manufacturing company.

Jon’s career in the decorative coatings market took him from UK Sales and Marketing Manager for Woodcare to Denmark where he first became involved in international sales and marketing management. His most recent roles were as Sales and Marketing Director in China and President Director in Indonesia.

Crown Paints CEO Brian Davidson said: “Jon is uniquely qualified for this role and we are delighted to welcome him to the senior management team at Crown Paints. With his extensive experience of working at the highest level in export and licensing, and his in-depth knowledge of all our key brands and their potential for growth in new markets, he is the ideal person to deliver our aggressive growth strategy.”

Brian added, “This is a tremendously exciting time for our dedicated export and licensing team. They have a very experienced new Commercial Manager at the helm and a fantastic portfolio of well established, widely recognised brands with strong reputations for quality and a rich heritage. Now that the Crown Paints business has autonomy and independence, they are at liberty to grasp overseas sales opportunities and forge new licensing agreements wherever the opportunities exist. There really are no limits.”
