BACKGROUND

Founded in 1888, Dernier & Hamlyn (‘Dernier’) designs and manufactures high-quality, bespoke chandeliers and candelabras. Its designs can be found in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, Numbers 10 and 11 Downing Street and the Cabinet Office in Whitehall to name but a few. Recent projects include the first new chandelier in St Paul’s Cathedral for over 300 years, lighting in the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds and the luxury Grove Hotel, near Watford in Hertfordshire.

Through the acquisition of Tindle Lighting , together with the smaller acquisition of Reid Lighting, a crystal lighting business, the new group is poised to build an international presence in luxury lighting capable of serving prestigious customers, hotels, public buildings and historic structures in the UK and around the world.

INVESTMENT COMMENTARY

Endless acquired a minority stake in Dernier in February 2007 to support the acquisition of Tindle and Reid, and provide growth funding to the group to expand its presence in both the UK and internationally.

The institutional, corporate and individual consumer demand for top quality designs and products with real heritage has never been more buoyant. Adding Endless’s financial strength and strategic assistance to these well run businesses will allow the newly enlarged group to take advantage of these excellent market conditions across the world.
