Crown Paints Limited, the UK’s largest independent paint manufacturer, has appointed a new General Manager to head up its 110-strong nationwide network of Crown Decorating Centres in England, Scotland and Wales.
Before joining Crown, Craig Russell was Operations Manager at the Homeform Group, a market leading specialist retailer of fully fitted home improvement products. Prior to this, he was Operations Director at Floors-2-Go, the country’s largest independent retailer of flooring products. Whilst he has specialised in retail operations at a senior level in recent years, Craig has also managed his own successful business. For three years he developed The Bed Shed, Scotland’s longest established and Europe’s largest bed retailer, (growing sales, market share, and more than doubling the number of outlets).
Crown Paints CEO Brian Davidson said that the combination of well proven entrepreneurial skills and many years experience at senior management level with two nationwide retail chains made Craig an ideal choice of general manager for the Crown Decorating Centre network. He also commented: “Add to these qualifications the fact that Craig has spent his entire career working closely with skilled tradesmen from different sectors of the market. He understands their needs and motivations and they way they like to operate, which is another very good reason why we believe he is the man to drive forward the ambitious long term development plans we have for our national network of specialist decorating outlets.”
