WELCOME

Welcome to the latest edition of Oxygen - the publication focusing on Turnarounds compiled by the team here at Endless, the UK’s award winning Turnaround Fund.

As we enter the final quarter of 2011, we may be on the verge of an unprecedented economic change. It is widely accepted that Greece will default on its debts and the debate has moved to whether it can stay in the Euro and the wider impact of the pending default. British businesses will need to react quickly to economic events in 2012 with the crisis in 2008 now looking like a dress rehearsal, rather than the main performance. I believe the experience of 2008 will mean the UK is well placed to deal with the challenges facing us in Olympic year.

Endless now has £220 million of fresh capital to invest in turnarounds in the UK following our recent fundraising. This is fantastic news for the UK economy and we are proud to cover this in more detail in this issue with some fascinating insight provided by two of our investors.

Staying positive we are delighted to introduce you to an inspiring social enterprise called CREATE in this issue. Our in-house charity, the Turnaround Foundation, is working closely with CREATE to help them turn around the lives of the homeless and to provide them with invaluable work skills and ultimately employment. In these hard times initiatives such as this are vital to supporting the turnaround of UK plc as a whole and we are very proud of our association with the team at CREATE.

Our popular feature ‘The Language of Business’ is back whilst I hope you enjoy our insight into the world of ‘Mixed Metaphors’ which has certainly kept me amused over the last twelve months. Hopefully by our next issue we will all be seeing the benefit of remaining positive and working hard together to get the UK mid market back on its feet.
