    INVESTMENTS

    Go Plant Fleet Services

Go Plant Fleet Services is a leading provider of operated road sweepers, self-drive specialist vehicles, and associated fleet management services.

    THE OPPORTUNITY

Go Plant Fleet Services is the result of a merger between two businesses, Essential Fleet Services (acquired from Kier plc in July 2015) and Go Plant (acquired from the Davidsons Homes group in July 2017). The merger brought together two highly complementary businesses that will provide customers with access to specialist vehicles and managed commercial services from one day to more than a decade.  The combination of Essential and Go Plant created a group with sales of £70million, over 400 staff and 35 depots and service centres across the UK.

Now headquartered in Bardon, Leicestershire, and with more than 40 years industry experience and expertise, Go Plant Fleet Services is the UK’s leading provider of operated road sweepers and self-drive specialist vehicles, working in partnership with local authorities and private sector markets to manage their specialist fleet requirements.  This specialist knowledge, together with its own workshops covering a national footprint, adds value whilst reducing costs, risk and complexity for customers.

    THE IMPACT SO FAR

With Endless’ support the business has made a considerable investment to integrate the two businesses to form a “one-stop” shop for local authorities and corporate customers looking to manage their specialist vehicle requirements.

The management team for the combined business have been strengthened by additions of Mark Chessman, Mark Gallimore, Kate Green and Paul Dove, all of whom have significant expertise in the leasing and servicing of complex assets, plus managing significant transformation programmes.

A key project has been to migrate the two businesses to a single, fit for purpose IT platform, which has allowed Go Plant to introduce a high level of automation to day-to-day processes, materially reducing the compliance burden for customers and Go Plant’s cost to serve.

The new platform is also a key steppingstone in the business tracking and efficiently managing its driver and vehicle populations, which in turn maximise return on investment.
