Delivering First Class Engineering Services at British Postal Museum

Imtech have been awarded a major refurbishment project, by construction managers and new client Blue Sky Building, to install building services at the British Postal Museum and Archive in Central London for the Postal Heritage Trust.

The Imtech Engineering Services London & South team will shortly commence pre-construction work and are scheduled to start mechanical and electrical installation on site in March 2016. The complex is due to open to the public in 2017.

The overall project involves the conversion and refurbishment of Calthorpe House, whilst retaining its’ 1920’s façade, into seven interactive exhibition spaces. The scheme also includes the creation of a unique visitor experience; an underground ride in the previously hidden Mail Rail tunnels at the Central London location.

Martin McEvoy, Managing Director, Imtech Engineering Services London & South commented ‘We’re looking forward to developing our relationship with Blue Sky Building and are very excited to begin work on what is set to become one of London’s most popular new tourist attractions.

Our team will be able to call upon previous experience having successfully completed a similar project on a former Port of London Authority building, that also retained its’ historic façade.’
