Imtech Working to Expand Anfield

Imtech are currently undertaking the full building services installation on the multi-million pound project to provide a new Main Stand at Liverpool FC’s famous Anfield Stadium.

One of the main challenges on the project is that Anfield remains operational throughout the construction process. To ensure this, the team are using extensive off-site prefabrication to meet the programme schedule and to ensure minimum disruption to players and visitors to Anfield.

Steve Milnes, Managing Director, Imtech Engineering Services North said “Our team have been working on this project since the design stages over a year ago. By implementing off-site prefabrication techniques, where possible, we are helping make sure the programme remains on track and the new stand will be ready for the 2016/17 football season.”

Recently, Liverpool Football Club released a time-lapse film capturing Anfield’s transformation since work began on the redevelopment of the Main Stand. The footage shows how the expansion has taken shape since construction work got underway in January and includes key moments such as the lifting of the new 650-tonne roof truss – click here to view:

Ultimately, the new stand will increase capacity to 54,000 and provide the club with three floors of hospitality suites and executive boxes, modernised upper and lower concourses, high quality players changing facilities, new stewards, officials and press facilities, along with players and VIP covered parking and extensive public space.
