James Briggs invests in new site

Aerosol and consumer chemical manufacturer James Briggs is to invest £1.5m in a new site in Greater Manchester.

The company plans to relocate its commercial and marketing functions to the new base located between its manufacturing sites in Royton and Chadderton.

The 10,000 sq ft premises will include a technical development laboratory along with its sales and marketing teams. The fit-out and relocation is planned for the first half of this year.

Chairman Jim Sumner said: "Due to the rapid development of JBL's business and our ambitious plans for the future, we’re making a significant investment in purchasing and fitting out a new commercial and technical centre.

"This facility will serve as our 'centre of excellence', where we can showcase our expertise and welcome key UK and global buyers to see our formulation development and packaging expertise first hand."

Max Bass, James Briggs' newly appointed commercial director, added: "This investment is great news for the region and is another major step in the continuing transformation of James Briggs. We are looking forward to the future with equal measures of ambition and confidence."

Endless backed a management buyout of the company in June 2013.
