James Briggs wins The Range listing

Aerosol and chemical manufacturer James Briggs has secured a contract to supply its paint brand Hycote to retailer The Range.

The Royton-based company will provide more than 250 colours of the paint to the retail group. Hycote was originally developed in the early 1980s for the motorsport industry.

Rashid Khan, marketing manager at James Briggs, said: "Our products were trialled in ten stores against its previously stocked brand and Hycote came out top in every instance. This is testament to the choice and quality offered by the Hycote brand.

"We have also developed a bespoke display stand for The Range in order to support merchandising and sales and look forward to introducing their customers to our Hycote brand."

Jim Chadwick, buyer at The Range, added: "It's always a challenge to completely refresh your offering in any product area but the research we conducted during the product trials highlighted a strong preference from customers for Hycote."

Private equity firm Endless backed a management buyout of the James Briggs, which was founded in 1830, in June 2013. It has manufacturing sites in Royton and Chadderton.
