Karro Food Group wins IGD Business Transformation Award
Karro Food Group, the leading supplier of British pork into the retail, trade and foodservice industries, has won another prestigious national business award.
The Malton-headquartered business won the Business Transformation Award, sponsored by KPMG, at the IGD Awards.
Karro won the award ahead of competition from leading brands PepsiCo, United Biscuits and The Co-operative Group.
Di Walker, Executive Chair of Karro Food Group, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have received this award, especially as we were up against brands of truly international standing.
“The IGD Awards, which showcase commitment to and innovation in the food and drink industry, are extremely prestigious, and as such we are proud to have been named Business Transformation Award winner.”
The accolade follows hot on the heels of Karro being named UK Business Growth winner in the Food and Drink Federation Awards 2016.
Ms Walker added: “Karro Food Group is a true success story having delivered significant growth following a period of transformation and revitalisation which has seen us build and maintain a strong customer base and develop our export business.”
Liz Claydon, Partner, Head of Consumer Markets at KPMG, said: “Karro Food Group has taken its business from strength to strength over recent years and we would like to recognise the huge results of its turnaround with this award. As a company that was given little chance of success to begin with, it has since become a key player in the pig meat industry through strong, engaging leadership and teamwork."
